HCBA CELEBRATES NEW OFFICE
The Hartford County Bar Association celebrated the move to their new office location at 100 Pearl Street, Hartford Connecticut. The Open House was held on Wednesday, March 24th.

Lincoln Pays a Visit to 95 Washington Street
On Law Day, Friday, May 1st, the Judges of the Hartford JD weren’t the only figures wearing black. Not long after a procession of Judges filled the jury seats in Center Court at the 95 Washington Street Courthouse, a tall, lanky man dressed in black strode into the courtroom following two Union soldiers. As he passed in front of the Judges, he tipped his top hat, and then took his place at the dais.

ASSOCIATION HONORED FOR SECOND YEAR
For a second consecutive year, the Hartford County Bar Association was voted the silver winner in the "Best Bar Association" category of the Connecticut Law Tribune's The Best Readers' Poll. The online readers' poll asks readers to cast their votes for the best goods and services in the legal profession. The survey serves as "a measure of the loyalty and satisfaction readers have with vendors and is an opportunity for readers to speak up for those providers they believe are the best."

HISTORY COMMITTEE UNVEILS PUBLICATION ON HCBA PRESIDENTS
In recognition of the Association's anniversary year, the History Committee distributed a publication on Bar Association Presidents. The compilation, made possible through the support of Lexis Nexis, contains biographical sketches of all deceased past-presidents beginning in 1886, and, quotes from all contemporary presidents.

225th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION RESOUNDING SUCCESS
On December 8, 2008, the Association celebrated its 225th Anniversary at a grand reception and dinner held at the Hartford Marriott Downtown Ballroom. Historic memorabilia surrounded the over three hundred attendees. The event was marked by a special tribute to the Association's esteemed past-presidents and the engrossing keynote address delivered by U.S. Senator Christopher Dodd. The Association received proclamations in honor of the event from Governor Rell and the Connecticut Bar Association.
